What we process

• Recipe data — ingredients you paste are processed to compute a label. By default we keep the raw recipe text only for your active browser session (hours), then discard it. Structured diagnostics (normalized ingredient names, unit types, match confidence — not your personal identity) are stored in event logs to operate and improve the product.
• Optional parsing improvement — if you check “Allow us to keep anonymized recipe text for 30 days…”, we store that paste (without name/email) for up to 30 days to improve parsing, then delete it. Default is off.
• Exports — PNG/PDF files are generated on demand and returned to your browser. They are not archived on the server.
• Unlock waitlist / checkout — if you request Unlock, we store your email (and optional company) so we can follow up or fulfill payment.
• Events — anonymous product analytics (for example label completed, export, unlock click) with a browser session id, written as server logs under our app data directory.
• Class links — if a teacher creates a class link, we store the class name and, only when they choose to enter it, a teacher email. Visits, labels, and downloads for that class are counted with an anonymous browser id and the class code. The class activity does not ask a student for a name or email.
• Access logs — our reverse proxy records standard HTTP access logs.
• Ads / measurement — if Google tags are configured, your browser may load Google Tag / Ads scripts (conversion labels may be added later).

Legal bases

Where GDPR applies: legitimate interests in operating and improving the product (Art. 6(1)(f)), and consent / contract where you submit an email for Unlock, opt in to recipe-text retention, or pay (Art. 6(1)(a)/(b)).

Retention

Waitlist and event logs are retained as needed to operate the service, respond to Unlock requests, and improve the product, then deleted or anonymized. Raw recipe text is session-only unless you opt in (30 days max).
